Get Well Card

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to post this card I got made for my grandmother-in-law. She is not doing very well. She fell a few weeks ago and fractured her back. She is in alot of pain. Her husband and her daughter (my mother-in-law) couldn't do much for her. They put her in a place that could care for her properly. They have her on pain meds so she sleeps alot. She doesn't want to eat. I am really afraid that she is giving up. It's really sad and I don't know what else to do but pray she will be alright. She LOVES my cards and thinks they should be in a store. That really makes me feel good. I just had to share this with you all.

Summer Theme Layout Challenge

Happy Monday! It was such a busy day for me that I did not have time to post this for you all sooner. BUT, this is my first post for my new DT that I am a part of for Queen of My Craftroom. I really had fun making this layout. As some of you may know, I am a HUGE fan of the beach and love getting down to Corpus Christi, TX every summer. We may not have the BEST beaches in Texas but I don't have to leave the state to get to the beach. It's really fabulous. Happy Saturday Everyone!!!!! This is a perfect sunny Saturday here in Texas. I am so ready to go to the beach and soak up some rays. You know, my wrists were killing me yesterday when I got home from work. They feel GREAT today and I enjoyed a blog hop this morning and got 2 cards made. Beach Layout - Inking It Up Crazy Design Team project

I decided to make my layout beach themed. This was really a challenge for me. It is so hard to do a layout after making cards for awhile. I am glad that my design team sister Erika got me this paper. This really gave me the inspiration I needed. This is where my husband and I like to go every summer, Corpus Christi, TX and Port Aransas, TX. These are not the "best" beaches in the world, but I don't have to leave Texas to go to the beach. We have an amazing design team at Inking it Up Crazy. Turtle Card

Here is my cute little turtle card. I made this one last night after a very long weekend. I thank my brother for sending me a picture of the sunrise Sunday morning to help inspire me to make this card. I LOVE the beach SO much and I just had to make this turtle. I cut the turtle out at 3 1/2 inches on my Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. The frame for this card has waves on it. I cut out the waves on two frames to make one solid wave and added it to the bottom of my card. I chalked around my seashells, used glossy accent on the bubbles and stickled my little friend here. I hope you all can find something to cut out from your Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. I would love to see them if you feel like making something. Here is the recipe for the card:

Shark Card

This is the shark card I made for my brother's birthday. My husband and I went to the beach with my brother and sister-in-law in August and my brother caught his first shark. He was out on an 8hr boat ride with a group of other fishermen. He didn't get a picture of his shark and they are only allowed to keep one per boat, so he had to set it free. I thought this would be perfect for him and I was hoping it wasn't TOO cute for him. I used my friends Life is a Beach cartridge for the shark and the waves. I used my Storybook cartridge to cut out the scallop oval and then I embossed it with my divine swirl cuttlebug embossing folder. I used my black stickles for the black border around the shark. I chalked the waves in white and added a little detail to the waves with my gel pen. I stamped the background with my dots stamp by Judith. The perfect touch was the fishing lure my mom gave me to add to this card. I am really happy with this card and I am so glad my brother loved it. I will have to out-do myself next year though.
